They grimaced when I took off my shoes

It happened last summer. A group of us were at the beach for a swim party. Everyone was having a great time, laughing and playing around in the water. I sat down to take off my shoes and join the fun.

Ahhh, there was Nancy, the woman I’d been trying to meet for weeks. She was standing right next to my beach chair. Nancy gasped and stepped away. "Oh, my gosh! Your nails are a mess!"

I’d noticed for several months that my big toe nail wasn't as healthy appearing as others. I just ignored it, thinking it would go away. It seemed to be getting worse instead of better. My toe didn’t really hurt much, but Nancy was right. It looked bad.

Nancy turned and walked away. I watched her move with the easy grace of ocean waves. My hopes were crushed.

I sat there awhile feeling depressed. Then, a shy girl came up to me. I’d noticed her before, but she was always so quiet. She was always in the background, watching, and never saying much. Frankly, I just forgot about her.

She knelt down in the sand and took my feet in her soft hands. The sun was shining on her silky hair, as she looked at my nails for a minute.

Then she looked up at me. “John, I used to have unsightly nails but I got Zetaclear, and look at my nails now."

I looked, and then suddenly realized how pretty she was, especially her eyes. Her eyes were warm and beautiful.

She smiled a sweet smile, stood, and started away. “Wait,” I yelled after her. “I don’t even know your name.”

She stopped for a moment. There was a twinkle in her brown eyes. “My name is Adele. Give me a call if you want help finding the Zetaclear.”

Zetaclear Solution Gets the Yellow Out

And the rest of the story?....

John did call Adele, and she told him how to get Zetaclear. He asked her out to dinner, to thank her for her help, and the rest is history. In fact, the last we heard, John slid a ring on Adele’s left hand.

Since Adele’s already taken, we’ll make it easy for you. Order Now and receive a Two Month Supply Free when ordering our maximum results package.

You aren't alone. I do all my houseplants and cactus rockeries and animal terrariums to The Doors and Led Zeppelin.
Yeah but I'm happiest on the hobby drinking and smoking stuff while working. I always get great results cos I get so focused and critical. NIN's Last is the heaviest nastiest song ever. All the best : ).

Petroleum jelly method does not work. The gnats basically danced all over the surface without sticking. Boo!
Diddo...just tried the jelly today and my gnats just skip along the stuff too, and this was immediately after applying the jell. Maybe our gnats are lighter on their feet than yours...!!
The flies in my garden look like fungus gnats but the are not sticking to the petroleum jelly! And I did put quite a bit of it on yellow pieces of paper. They land on it but they dont stick! they are able to fly away :( please help!!!! seems like there a quite of few of these fungus gnats.
watering from the bottom helps to keep the soil from getting compacted as much as it does when you water from the top, but some plants may not like being watered from the bottom.
How to rid my grow tubes of fungus gnats? when I check the roots a lot of gnats come out and fly around but the tubes are holding a lot of them.

I didn't have yellow paper but I did have a yellow crayon and white paper :) Thanks for the help.
Great idea! I'm interested in finding out how to make a seedling room like yours. Do you have a video on how to build one? I love it! thx Liz. All components that are in the growroom can be found in several videos. you take all those videos and mash them together, and you have my growroom. There are actually a lot of plants that fungus gnats do not cause problems with even from seed, but many vegetables are super vulnerable to fungus gnat larvae.cinnamon is a fungicide and kills the fungus that fungus gnats eat and needs to be replaest every 2 weeks it will also prevent drop off.
On another favorite gardening channel this topic came up & suggested placing a small bowl of sugar water and another was a sm. bowl of your old coffee with cream & sugar. Did both one day. None in the sugar water but Wow my day's coffee had about 15 of the little buggers. So now I get to be lazy and leave my coffee cups around my plants...at least until I do dishes. Gonna try the vasoline vs. coffee. Will let you know. Just having fun 8-).

Thank you, thank you! I grow fodder & sprouts for my sheep, rabbits & chickens. I thought these were fruit flies, but now know they are fungus gnats. I will be trying this today to get rid of these annoying bugs.
also is that lemon? in the back left? looks great! how do you fertilize? i read they need lots of nutrients!I buy those bags of clean fine white sand from the florest and pour about an inch of it over each of my pots' soil, The barrier prevents the gnats from laying eggs in the soil and they all die out. I've been doing it for 10 years and have never had a problem with gnats again. Just water from the bottom, and everythings great. The two methods i use are 1) I picked up a $15 bug zapper (5w) and I only run it when I have a few adult gnats flying around, they dead by morning.I place it at the same level as the soil in my pots. 2) a 50lbs bag of sand ($5).Take off the first half inch of top soil from the pots and replace it with sand. This breaks the cycle since they hate dry sand. Just bottom water for a week or so.The sand can stay but it can be replaced with soil once again in roughly two weeks. This is how I won the war.
And to avoid getting fungus gnats all together when ever u buy plant inspect both the plant and the soil its in and when u bring it home don't mediately add it to ur grow room keep it in a separate room for about a week before adding to ur grow room, keep it there and treat all problems u can find first then when u r a 100% sure there's no pest problems with it now u can add it to ur plant collection and over all this helps to avoid ever contaminating ur grow room with unwanted pest.

Anyone that is trying to get rid of these little pest the best way to go about it is using 100% neem oil with no other chemicals added, all u do is add a bit of it to ur water when u r watering ur plants and that will kill off all of the eggs over time, neem oil comes from a tree so its harmless to ur plants but it has to be a 100% neem oil in order to be saver to use, for a 100% success use both this method and the fly traps.

it is, but its only a preventitive. and since cinimon resists water, whenever you water your plants it just goes nuts and bubbles up and makes a massive mess.
Just know they sell a lot of unsafe things. Research is you're best friend. Thanks this is cheaper then what I was doing.Luke, I am trying this right now. I am using bright yellow cardstock. Its a little heavier then paper. Will let you know how it works. I am not sure how I got some many of them since I treated all of the plants with Pyrethin (sp?) and the soil with Neem oil. I do have a bunch of spiders that moved in so they may be taking care of the problem as well, lol.
Have you thought of growing tobacco alongside your plants? I hear the leaves are a natural fly paper.

I have tried vaseline on yellow paper and it didn't really work - maybe I didn't have enough traps... But will try it again. Have been keeping the soil dry and it's working better - but sometimes I forget to water and things have died from dry soil... Thanks for the tips.
Very informative. I never heard of fungus flies. Maybe because I am just getting into gardening. Thank you for sharing. God bless. Before this year, I had never seen or heard of them either because I had not brought plants in. I saw them mentioned on Praxxus channel, but didnt give them the respect that Ray said to. Now I am paying the piper, or more like hundreds of these damn pipers. Most of my stuff indoors is just experiments, and I could stand to lose them. But my cherry tomato and pepper plants I want to keep going.I will give that a try, this is my last ditch effort to get rid of them i have about 13 plants that came in this fall an i have a ton of them,an has tried everything...well almost everything!Good tips. I like the vaseline on the yellow paper. They can't resist bright yellow. The vaseline holds them perfectly. I noticed you included bottom watering. *high five*. Keep the soil surface dry. Nicely done! :). Good video! And an excellent reminder, not to let the dreaded fungus gnat get a foot hold. Last year was the first year I did a lot of starts inside andhad brought some plants in too. It was a fight all winter. I had to throw away some plants because it got out of control. Sprinkled diatomaceous earth on the soil the last two times I watered.hoping that will kill something. I plan to put sand on the soil of the existing plants and what. you showed in this video. "TODAY" Before starting seeds.
White flies and Fungus Gnats are the two most troublesome pests. Thanks for the fungus Gnats 'recipe' we look forward to an equally effective remedy foe White flies. Thanks a lot.

Luke, Im thinking besides the color what are they attracted to? I mean as a lure. Because I tried something like this before without success. Im thinking fruit or sugar? What are they attracted to, wet soil?

They are driving me crazy! They got into earthworm box. I tried the apple cider vinegar but it didn't work. Going to try your idea. Thanks!
Thank you so much. i have been battling these things for weeks. I have a great collection of veggies indoors this year but was about to admit defeat if my pyretherin didn't do the trick today(I was doubtful it would). This may be just the trick I need. Was that fly you caught in video a fruit fly or fungus gnat... it looks like the bastards I'm fighting:-).
